Mrs. Legge founded the Dance Program at G.S. Lakie Middle School in 2006. Thanks to a very supportive atmosphere, the Lakie Dance Program has grown substantially and continues to thrive. There are hundreds of students taking dance classes at Lakie each year and they participate in a variety of performing arts productions. The program has evolved from a small classroom with a boom box to a state of the art dance room equipped with a sound system, stage lighting and our very own convertible theatre!
Kristi trained competitively and studied the disciplines of Jazz, R.A.D. Ballet, Lyrical, Contemporary and Hip-Hop with Showtime Dance Productions for over 10 years. Graduating with great distinction, she completed a degree in Kinesiology with a secondary degree in Education majoring in the Arts at the University of Lethbridge. While studying at the U of L Kristi founded the Lethbridge Alberta Dance Company. After ten years as the Artistic Director of the company she made the transition into a full-time teaching role at G.S. Lakie Middle School.
Kristi continues to develop professionally by attending workshops and master classes in New York, Toronto, Calgary and Vancouver.
I am very passionate about the arts and I can honestly say I love my job!
Teaching students is very rewarding and I am so thankful to be working at such an outstanding school along side a talented and committed team.
